We, too, have felt the effects of this ban. Turkish users of Travelfusion.com and our regional partner site Seyahatix.com, both of which utilise Google Analytics to monitor website traffic, have reported very slow page loads and general instability. To better serve our Turkish users during this worrying period, and to help speed up our site for everyone else, we will soon be upgrading to the Google Analytics asynchronous tracking scripts.

Update: TechCrunch reports that this was all just a clumsy mistake by Google, and that the Turkish government is holding Google to task to fix it!

Here’s a look at some of our favourite new features, ones that we hope will enhance your experience on our site and help you to find cheap fares with even more ease and more fun!

Starting with our home page, you’ll notice right away that we’ve added a new widget that displays the best fare for our most popular routes.  Similar to a display we had on the previous version of our site, this widget is updated every 24 hours to show you the cheapest fares recently found on our popular routes. This will help you find travel inspiration for last-minute trips and show you how far you really can travel, even when funds are low.

Locations are reset daily to reflect the searches that have been done in the past day, and as this data is dynamic, some fares sell out quickly, so book right away to guarantee the price!

We’ve added a mailing list for those of you who would prefer to receive relevant news and cheap fare alerts via our periodic email newsletter.  Opt in with your favourite airport and we’ll tailor the fare alerts to you, to help you choose where to travel next!

Perhaps the most exciting new feature for some is the direct integration of our city-specific Twitter accounts into our search results.  An innovative move that we’ve not seen done anywhere else, this integration of Twitter will allow interested travellers to have quick access to daily fare alerts for the best deals that we can find!

Search for your flight as you would normally, and if we support a city-specific Twitter account for your location, you’ll see an alert at the bottom of the search box inviting you to follow that Twitter account.  We currently cover our 40 most popular origin cities, and the Twitter handles for all of them can be found on our list of FlyFrom accounts, or by spotting them whilst searching for your next flight.  At this time, we only support English language and prices in pounds sterling, but this may soon change as we gather feedback from users and make further improvements to our system.

Make a search, visit our latest blog article with one click or join in the discussion on Twitter in just seconds!  Also, don’t forget to click on the links at the top of our page for more information about us and what we do (besides helping you find cheap flights, of course!) and please leave us some feedback on the feedback form.  There will be incentives for those who do!

Not sure what the airport codes mean?  Hover your mouse over the unknown code to see a handy pop-up telling you exactly which airport you’re looking at.

Take advantage of our “two bookings” feature which allows you to make two one-way bookings for a round-trip journey, ensuring that you access the lowest fares that these carriers provide.
