Fresh from the momentum of March’s new site design and release, Travelfusion is thrilled to announce a whole host of new features and improvements to the site. I’m happy to share some of my favourite new features here on the blog, with screenshots and explanations as to where to find them on our site. Enjoy, and please do let us know if you have any feedback or ideas for functionality that you’d like to see next.
Recent Searches

Right at the top of our home page, we’ve added a new “recent searches” feature. Saving your five most recent searches, this tool is handy if you are searching several different date options or looking for different holiday destinations. Your recent searches list will allow you to quickly refer back to see your previous searches and compare fares and dates easily.
Share on Facebook/Follow us on Twitter

We’re excited to now support a “share on Facebook” function that allows you to quickly and easily publish search results to your Facebook page. Looking to take a trip with some of your friends or are you heading home for the summer? This is an easy way to let your friends know when you’re travelling or give them ideas for an upcoming trip you’re planning together.
We also have integrated our city-specific Twitter accounts into our search results page. With our top 40 origin cities all owners of their own city-specific accounts, we Tweet the best daily deals from these cities on weekdays to help you gain inspiration for where to travel next. Click here to see if your hometown is supported by this city-specific feature and be sure to follow us for the best deals.
Share by Email

Another new feature on our results page is the “share by email” function that you’ll notice to the right of each search result. Simply click on the small envelope icon next to the fare you want to share, and fill in the pop-up with the email address of the friend to whom you’d like to send the fare.

Once you send your email, along with a personal message, your friend will receive an email like the one above with the flight details and information neatly presented in the message. By clicking on the link to the fare, they will be taken directly to the search results that you shared, with the selected fare highlighted and also listed at the top of the page.

The “age” of the fare will also be listed at the bottom of the page, to show how long ago the fare was found. This feature makes it so easy to share fares with friends and plan trips together, even remotely.
Fresh Fares

On our Travel Guide pages, we now display the lowest cached fares to specific destination cities. Here you’ll be able to see the cheapest fares that have been found recently on Travelfusion.com, along with a bright “fresh” button that alerts you to fares that are less than one hour old. The more recently fares have been found, the more likely it is that they will still be available.
In addition to these new features, our development team was also hard at work fixing bugs and improving the look and feel of the site. Hope you enjoy the new functionality and that you keep finding cheap fares on Travelfusion. Happy travels!
