A tropical island nation in the Pacific Ocean, Kiribati became independent from the United Kingdom in 1979 and is home to fewer than 100,000 inhabitants spread over an expanse of 32 atolls and 3,500,000 square kilometres. Thought to be one of the nations that will disappear first as a result of climate change, and one of the least developed nations in the world, Kiribati is uniquely breathtaking and has a rich cultural heritage. Its gorgeous coastline and crystal clear waters have me daydreaming of an island getaway!
