Travelfusion's Social Media Officer, I manage all of our online marketing and presence on Twitter, Facebook, our blog and more. I love my job!

A few weeks ago, we started a new “Where to Eat” feature highlighting some of our favourite food blogs in our home city of London.  We got such great response from our post, that we’ve decided to share our favourite food blogs to help you decide where to eat in Paris on your next trip!

I’ve written before about the soft spot I have for Paris, the city that I called home for the past three years.  Though as an expatriate, it was often a love-hate relationship that I had with the city, its undeniable that there are some amazing dining experiences to be had on a visit to the city of lights.  My mouth waters remembering some of the dishes that I tried whilst living there, and I can’t wait to share some of the best foodie resources that I’ve found to help you take your own culinary tour of the city.

David Lebovitz

It would be crazy to start my Paris food resource list with anyone other than David Lebovitz. Known worldwide for his delectable recipes, amazing food photography, cookbooks and excellent blog, Lebovitz is also the best type of Paris resident as he shares his tips and favourite places to go on his My Paris page!  His list of restaurants is extensive and includes options for the smallest budgets and those looking to splurge.  Check out his recommendations of L’As du Falafel and La Biche au Bois for two ends of the spectrum, both delicious!  He’s also included some great tips for restaurant etiquette in Paris towards the middle of this page.

Simon Says!

French food critic Francois Simon runs a fantastic group blog offering restaurant reviews from all over Paris.  With a handy listing by arrondissement, the photography in each post makes me hungry and the reviews are thorough and include addresses and phone numbers of each establishment which is a great help when planning where to eat! He also includes posts in French and Japanese, as well as restaurant reviews for other areas in France and around the world.  I loved the recent post by Joe Ray about Restaurant Quan Ngon in the Chinatown area of Paris that offers an extremely reasonable yet copious meal.  I’ll have to try it or its competitor Dong Huong next time I’m in town!

The Paris Kitchen

Another one of my favourite Paris food blogs is The Paris Kitchen.  This is a fantastic resource for anyone visiting Paris and offers a great breakdown of posts in different categories to help visitors and residents alike in finding the perfect place to eat.  Choose from bakeries and patisseries to satisfy a sweet tooth, pick a bistro, brasserie or café for a lazy lunch of people-watching or check out the cocktail and wine bar listing for a suggestion of where to start your evening out on the town.  Regardless of which category you choose, the beautiful photographs and insider tips and suggestions won’t disappoint.  My favourite recent post offers a taste test and reviews of some of the most renowned bakeries in Paris in the search for Paris’ best croissant.  Check it out!

Spotted By Locals – Paris

Our final blog recommendation is for Spotted by Locals – Paris.  A group blog which is written by locals in 23 different European cities (and counting) Spotted By Locals offers a uniquely local perspective on places to go in Paris.  Perhaps I’m biased as I’ve contributed to the site in the past, but I have also found plenty of fantastic recommendations that helped me to discover new “under the radar” spots in my own neighbourhood.  Some must-visits are Krung Thep in the Belleville neighbourhood, Restaurant La Gare in the chic 16e arrondissement, or my personal favourite restaurant in Paris, Fish – La Boissonerie in the always busy Latin Quarter.

Wherever you decide to dine in Paris, enjoy these blogs and recommendations as a starting off point for discovering all that this gorgeous city has to offer.  Planning a visit soon?  Fly from London from £92, Manchester from £132 or Birmingham from £88 for a long weekend in late March! Bon appétit!
