We are undertaking an urgent change to the behaviour of our system regarding card charges for Easyjet. From now on, our XML API will return both card charges and minimum charges for Easyjet bookings as a fixed amount. This amount will be calculated by Travelfusion and will be different for each flight.

So, where are API previously returned the following XML for Easyjet:

<SupportedCard>
<CardType>Visa Credit</CardType>
<CardChargePercentage>0.025</CardChargePercentage>
</SupportedCard>

it will now return something like this:

<SupportedCard>
<CardType>Visa Credit</CardType>
<CardCharge>
<Charge>
<Amount>12.83</Amount>
<Currency>EUR</Currency>
</Charge>
<ChargeIsPerPassengerLeg>false</ChargeIsPerPassengerLeg>
</CardCharge>
</SupportedCard>

This change should not affect your system as it utilises the existing ‘Amount’ syntax, but if your application is caching card charge information or if you are giving the end user information concerning how the charge is calculated, please reveiw this change and the possible effects it may have.

Our online API documentation has been updated to reflect this at http://admin.travelfusion.com/xmlspec/v2/detailedspec/xmldescription/060-DetailsResponse.php

Airlines either provide these figures as fixed amounts or as percentages, and we reflect the information they provide. For example, a supplier where we currently specify card charges as a percentage is Monarch Airlines.
