Easyjet drops East Midlands airport, refocuses on continental Europe

On Sept 3 Easyjet announced their plans to stop flying from East Midlands airport and also reduce flights from London Luton. It’s part of their strategy to shift routes to “more profitable airports” in continental Europe. Easyjet has blamed rising costs and taxes, pointing specifically at airport costs at Luton which, Easyet claims, have risen by 25% since 2006.
